St. Patty's Day Cake

Some friends invited us over for a St. Patrick's day dinner. If they didn't I would have completely forgotten about St. Patrick's day! I am part Irish, but since I'm not Catholic nor do I drink, this holiday holds no significance to me.

BUT...I'm very glad they did because not only was it fun and yummy, but it was also another excuse for me to make another cake! I brought this cake to the dinner. It's chocolate with chocolate pudding filling and fudge frosting. YUM!

I think it turned out okay. I didn't have a shamrock cookie cutter so I improvised and used a heart cutter. I think it worked pretty well. You can't see it very well, but I greased up the shamrocks and sprinkled green sugar crystals on them. The sprinkles gave the cake some texture and sparkle. I think I should incorporate sprinkles on my cakes more often!

  1. Not only did it look great, it tasted fabulous. Thank you, Amy, for gracing us with one of your wonderful cakes. We need to invite you over more often ;)

2.'re very welcome! I'm glad somebody was willing to eat my cake. My cakes don't get eaten at home so they just go to waste!
