My little guy recently turned three! He really loves Elmo so I decided to throw him an Elmo birthday party. I was planning an elaborate cake, but was relieved when I got my hands on an Elmo cake pan (thanks Heather!) because it was perfect for the party, he loved it, super cute, and a TON less work then the two-tiered, fondant cake I was planning on!
This Elmo cake just required piping stars so not a whole lot of skill is needed. I have a tri-star tip so that made decorating much faster. I did have to put my icing bag in the freezer from time to time because it would get too warm, thus runny icing. Also I took a toothpick and smoothed out all the holes. So that's it. I plan on buying this cake pan for my boy because he loves it!

Pink and Orange Baby Shower Cake
Sorry guys, it's been a LONG time!! Raising two kids uses up the time and energy I would normally reserve for making cute cakes!
This next cake I made awhile ago so it's about time I posted it! This is a baby shower cake. It's chocolate with vanilla frosting. I made it a six-inch so I could use the leftover cake for cupcakes to make a cute little set-up. This cake was your run-of-the-mill "cut-n-slap" cake. As in, cut out fondant shapes, and slap 'em on the cake. The bow was a bit tricky as I had to rig it up with toothpicks, but other than that, it's cute and just that:
P.S. not a SLICE of this cake got eaten at the shower! Only a couple cupcakes did (and I am counting the one I ate). Meh. Guess I should have made a Styrofoam centerpiece instead!

Damask Bridal Shower Cake
Sorry for the 4-month gap. Haven't made any cakes in awhile (have I mentioned that I've lost weight?)
My friend asked me to make a cake for a Bridal Shower she was going, and here it is!! One of my first paid cakes!
